There are several community halls and facilities throughout the district. South Waikato has a strong sporting community with the event centre and sports clubs hosting a range of seasonal competitions. You’ll find several recreational pools and libraries located in the towns.
The South Waikato boasts one indoor pool in Tokoroa, complemented by two seasonal outdoor pools in Putāruru and Tīrau. With year-round heating, the indoor facilities offer a consistent aquatic experience, ensuring enjoyment regardless of the season.
There are two full libraries in the district, the largest being based in Tokoroa. The libraries offer a range of programmes and activities from school holiday sessions to Lego Club and studio recording. You’ll find something to do for all ages.
